Stephanie Hammond

Stephanie Hammond focuses on technology solutions to improve DoD human capital processes with ServiceNow. Previously, she served as aDeputy Assistant Secretary of Defense in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy and focused on the management and oversight of a $430 million budget for humanitarian assistance and foreign disaster relief programs, civil affairs, embassy security, and crisis response policy and coordination. She also was the lead on the DoD COVID-19 Task Force for medical assistanceto Allies and Partners.
While at the Pentagon, Stephanie also was an advisor to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy where she handled the International Security Affairs portfolio and Secretary of Defense Strategic Management Forums, including the Combatant Command baseline reviews and National Defense Strategy implementation.
Previously, Stephanie worked for an international NGO, World Vision, where she focused on the global refugee crisis and complex humanitarian emergency responses in Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Serbia, and South Sudan.
Stephanie graduated summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis. She studied at Christ Church, Oxford University and has received Harvard Law School's Negotiation Certificate. She is a member of the CSIS Global Women's Leadership Executive Fellowship, term member on the Council on Foreign Relations, and has received the Secretary of Defense Exceptional Civilian Service Award and Outstanding Public Service Award.
