Dane Gaynor
VP, Programs of Impact
Dane Gaynor was born and raised in Northeastern Colorado in a small town with less than 200 people. He grew up loving the outdoors, spending much of his free time at the river and the woods nearby. Dane played numerous sports growing up and throughout High School. Upon graduation Dane enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He spent the next 5 years in the Marine Corps Reserves while going through college, attaining his B.S. from the University of Northern Colorado, and then being commissioned as a 2nd Lt after graduation. After some medical complications kept him from going through flight school, Dane was re-designated into the Intel field where he has spent the remainder of his 16 years in both Active Duty and the Reserves. He has participated in combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief operations in the Philippines and Nepal, and numerous training exercises throughout East Asia and the Pacific.
Dane is currently a Cyber Exploitation Development Systems Engineer, Engineering Manager, and Program Manager with Lockheed Martin, as well as a sub-Detachment OIC for the Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion IMA unit.
Dane participated in his first Ruck in 2019 and has had the honor and privilege of being assigned as a Team (element) Leader beginning in 2020.
Dane joined the Honor Movement Foundation in his current role as Vice President of Programs of Impact. In this capacity, Dane will oversee the program's influence, costs, and overall effectiveness.
Dane’s Why: “The Ruck to Remember is an event like no other I have been a part of that challenges ones mind, body, and spirit while paying honor and remembrance to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.”
